Blue Spruce Toolworks Butt Chisels are some of the finest quality chisels available today. They are ideal for woodworkers who like to work close to their work piece. They excel at chopping dovetails as well as mortising hinges and working inside confined spaces. They are great "go-to" chisels for many tasks. Made with both a strong socket and a deep tang construction, they are strong and nicely balanced. The overall length of the chisels is about 6-1/2 inches. They are available in thirteen blade widths from 1/8 inch to 1-1/2 inch, three different handle styles, three wood choices for the handles and two finishes for the ferrules. The maple handles are hard, figured maple that has been infused with acrylic resin. This makes an extremely dense and tough handle that can take pounding from a mallet. Optional Cocobolo and African Blackwood handles are only available to USA customers. There is an additional option if you wish to supply your own wood for the handles.
See the tabs above for illustrations of handle options and blade sizes and then use the drop down menus below to select your options. You must select the width of blade, style of handle, type of wood, ferrule finish and whether you want a smooth handle or fluted handle.
Note that we make your chisels to order and try very hard to keep lead times to a week or two at the most. On very rare occasion the lead times can be up to 6 weeks.
Please note that due to current CITES regulations we are unable to ship African Blackwood, Cocobolo and other Rosewoods or dalbergia
outside of the USA. Please do not order these options if your final shipping destination is not in the USA. Thank you for your understanding.
