Our Joiners Knife is a smaller blade version of our Sloyd Knife. It is a very versatile and comfortable knife to use for a wide variety of tasks but works very well for marking joinery. It is a great alternative for those who prefer marking with a traditional double bevel knife rather than a spear point marking knife. The blade is finely machined from 1095 high carbon steel that has been heat treated and tempered for a fine grain structure and RC 58 hardness. The straight blade is easy to hone and keep sharp. It is coated with Cerekote ceramic coating for corrosion resistance, durability and good looks. The handle is turned from hard curly maple that has been infused with acrylic resin for long lasting durability and added balance. The ferrule is available in brass or with a ceramic black coating. The knife has an overall length of 6“ with a blade length of about 2”.
Included with the Blue Spruce Sloyd Knife is a handsome leather sheath. Handmade by Amish craftsman from full grain leather and a high precision mold, the sheath will hold your knife firmly and safely in place and the flex steel belt clip will easily attach to your belt. All seams are riveted for a lifetime of use. Over time, this leather will develop a beautiful patina that is full of character.
