Blue Spruce Toolworks Bench Chisels are some of the finest quality chisels available today. They are specifically designed for heavy duty but very precise use and should be your first chisels. Made with both a strong socket and a deep tang construction, they are strong and nicely balanced. The blades are made from tough A2 tool steel that has been precisely hardened and tempered to Rc60 for the ultimate balance of edge holding and ease of sharpening. Blade length from the front of the stainless steel ferrule is 4-1/2 inches (114mm). They are available in nine blade widths from 1/8 inch to 1-1/2 inch, several different handle styles, three wood choices for the handles and two finishes for the ferrules. The maple handles are hard, figured maple that has been infused with acrylic resin. This makes an extremely dense and tough handle that can take pounding from a mallet. Optional Cocobolo and African Blackwood handles are only available to USA customers. There is an additional option if you wish to supply your own wood for the handles.
See the tabs above for illustrations of handle options and blade sizes and then use the drop down menus below to select your options. You must select the width of blade, style of handle, type of wood, ferrule finish and whether you want a smooth handle or fluted handle.
Note that we make your chisels to order and try very hard to keep lead times to a week or two at the most. On very rare occasion the lead times can be up to 6 weeks.
Please note that due to current CITES regulations we are unable to ship African Blackwood, Cocobolo and other Rosewoods or dalbergia
outside of the USA. Please do not order these options if your final shipping destination is not in the USA. Thank you for your understanding.
