Blue Spruce Toolworks Marking Gauges cut clean, crisp, physical grooves for your saws and chisels to reference. The small radius on the end of the blade alleviates the turbulence of a pin gauge, similar to a wheel-style cutter, but with better tactile feedback. Beyond the blade, the precision-milled aluminum body and beam feature sculpted curves to feel like an extension of your hand. The components blend into a tool that reflects history, but expresses it with modern materials destined to last generations.
The radiused spearpoint blade profile is ground on state-of-the-art CNC equipment and honed to a razor’s edge. It sits flush with the end of the beam, allowing easy depth measuring and marking. To save your cutting edge and your fingers, the blade neatly tucks into the fence when not in use.
The body and beam of the gauge are precisely machined from aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel. The milling process ensures tolerances you can feel and appreciate with every adjustment you make. A series of concave curves and chamfers provide an ergonomic base for several different grips. A recess in the registering face of the body allows easy one-handed operation of the clamping knob, sitting stealthily tucked into the top of the gauge.
