Card Scrapers - Straight 4 Inch

The .062" thick card scrapers we introduced a few years ago have been game-changers for thousands of hand-tool woodworkers who had previously struggled with thinner scrapers. But lots of loyal customers wanted our shape, steel quality and edge preparation in a traditional .032" thickness. Still others wanted a blade they can flex easily to work contours and concentrate the cut on tear-out and small flaws. Wherever you fall in those three schools of thought, we've got you covered. We offer our 4" card scraper in .062", .032" and .015" thicknesses. All feature the same shape, with a gentle curve blending
off at the outside edge…no sharp corners to gouge your project…or your hands.

If you’ve struggled to sharpen and use traditional, thin card scrapers, you’ll love Blue Spruce Toolworks .062" card scrapers. They're twice as thick as most others on the market. Getting a flat, smooth surface requires less technique, less grip strength and less resharpening. The thicker blade accepts burnishing easier than a thin blade, too. It’s easier to feel when you’re positioned at the correct angle and there’s more to “ride”.

On the other hand, if you've been using card scrapers for decades and prefer the control you can get by flexing the blade, we've got you covered there, too. Our Semi-Flex .032" scrapers are made from the same 1095 tool steel as our thick blade and machined into the same profile. What's more they arrive on your door-step ready to cut, just like the thick blades. But the thinner blades flex with pressure, giving you more control over the amount of stock being removed.

At the far end of the spectrum lies our .015" Ultra-Flex. Here's a scraper you can bend to your will…literally. With your thumbs in the center of the blade, you can increase or decrease the aggressiveness of the cut or fit the blade into gentle contours with just a gentle squeeze.
