Through months of experimentation, we've developed a lamination process that maintains the resilience of leather but eliminates the layer separation common in most leather mallets. This tool will look as good as it works for generations to come.

Perfect for both large-scale furniture work and smaller projects too, this mallet brings just the right heft and balance to deliver the exact amount of force needed. The layered leather mallet head won’t bounce back on you, and most importantly, it's gentle with delicate workpieces, finished work and your prized hand tools.

Each mallet head is laminated from genuine cowhide, tanned and finished in Ohio’s Amish country. Similar to our infused maple head mallets, a steel shaft reinforces the connection between the head and the resin-infused figured Maple handle.  But in the leather mallet, the head is secured with a turned brass end cap and a flathead machine screw, instead of epoxy. This construction results in a surprisingly powerful tool in a compact form.
