Patterned after the straight edge used by saw smiths to check circular saw plates and hand saw blanks, the Blue Spruce Toolworks Woodworker’s Straight Edge fits your day-to-day shop workflow better than the more typical 24" or 36" straight edge. We added a handle cut-out not common in the traditional design. In our test shop we found the handle enhanced the usefulness of the tool and kept us reaching for it, rather than other reference tools we had available. We beveled the edge to make it easier for you to see the contact between the straight edge and your material or machine surface. We hold the contact edge to a tolerance of ±0.0007".   Made from Hardened 301 Stainless Steel.  The Woodworker's Straight Edge measures 12" long x 2-1/2" tall and 1/8" thick.

Keep this tool on your bench while hand planning for a quick inspection of your work. Check rough lumber for warp and twist. Use it to check your progress while rehabbing the sole of an old hand plane. The cut-outs make it easy to move the tool around on your stock when doing lay out work. And of course, it's the perfect tool to check your saw blades (of all kinds).

The Woodworker’s Straight Edge includes a wall-mountable Rack-It to keep your straight edge right in plain sight, carefully stored and always ready for work.
