Castello Boxwood (Calycophyllum multiflorum), also known as Ivorywood or Palo Blanco, is a premier South American hardwood. Renowned for its creamy yellow to pale gold color and an incredibly fine, uniform texture, it is the industry-standard alternative to rare European Boxwood.

Originating primarily from Paraguay and tropical South America, Castello Boxwood is celebrated by craftsmen as perhaps the finest grained wood available. While not a true Buxus species, it shares the same high-density characteristics that make it ideal for intricate work. The wood features a straight to slightly interlocked grain and a natural luster that takes a high-gloss finish.

It is exceptionally stable and capable of holding extremely fine detail without chipping, making it the preferred choice for model ship building, architectural carving, and engraving. It turns, glues, and finishes beautifully, offering moderate durability and a smooth, silky feel.

Wood is a natural product—color, figure, and grain pattern can vary wildy—no two pieces will be the same.

**Please note that due to current CITES regulations we are unable to ship African Blackwood, Cocobolo and other Rosewoods or dalbergia outside of the USA. Please do not order these options if your final shipping destination is not in the USA. Thank you for your understanding.
