Argentine Lignum Vitae Turning Stock

Straight from the production line, this selection of Lignum Vitae is the same turning stock used in the making of Blue Spruce tools, and it’s available to you now at a great low price. We have a limited supply available—first come, first served! 

Lignum vitae (Bulnesia spp.) is one of the heaviest and hardest woods in the world. Many people have heard of Genuine Lignum vitae (Guaiacum officinale) but this Argentine Lignum vitae (Bulnesia sarmientoi) is an excellent alternative, especially for wood turning. The unique feather grain pattern and fragrant herbal smell are as unique as the fact that when exposed to direct sunlight Argentine Lignum vitae will turn from pale yellow to a beautiful olive to emerald green. This species is currently listed on the CITES Appendix II list of endangered species and is restricted to import without special permits.

Available blanks are shown in pairs to demonstrate variation—each piece is sold individually. The blanks are considered rough lumber and may contain surface checks and tear-out. These are not defects. All sizes are nominal, +/- 1/8”. 

Wood is a natural product—color, figure, and grain pattern can vary wildy—no two pieces will be the same.
