Blue Spruce Round Mallet

Blue Spruce Round Mallets feature a maple head infused with a tough polymer resin that increases the density of the maple by 80%. The infused head puts more “smack” into less space than simple wooden headed mallets. In addition to concentrating power, the resin protects the wood fibers from compression. This beautiful tool will still look beautiful after chopping hundreds of dovetails and mortises.

What you can’t see, but you will definitely feel, is how the head and handle are joined. A machined steel rod extends deep into both sections. The joining shaft is epoxied in place, adding mass and rigidity to the mallet. 

Blue Spruce Rectangular Mallets

Designed to be an elegant, traditional looking Rectangular Mallet, except we’ve infused the maple head with a tough polymer resin that increases the density by 80%, putting more “smack” in less space. The resin-infused maple not only concentrates the power of your blow, it also keeps the mallet head looking like new through the most demanding work. Even chopping mortises won’t mar the face. To protect your projects during assembly work, we bond harness leather to one of the mallet faces. The leather face is also great when your chisel work needs a lighter touch. The mallet head is both bonded and wedged to the handle, resulting it a satisfying, solid feel to the tool.

The Large Rectangular Mallet is perfect for large mortise and tenon work. The head measures 5" long, 2-5/8" tall, and just under 2-1/4" wide. Mated to the head is a 9-1/2” contoured handle with chamfers that soften the edges and deliver positive orientation feedback. The entire mallet weighs approximately 22-24 ounces.

The Small Rectangular Mallet is ideal for dovetailing, furniture assembly and smaller mortising. The head is 4" long, 2-1/4" tall and 2" wide, and it is mated to an 8” contoured handle. The entire mallet weighs approximately 14-16 ounces.
