Blue Spruce Dovetail Chisel blades extend 4" beyond the ferrule. The standard chisel handles fit most hands comfortably for both mallet work and delicate paring cuts. Perfectly sharpened is a great first step, but how does it hold an edge? Each chisel is machined from A2 tool steel, heat-treated, double-tempered, cryogenically treated, ground, lapped, and polished to perfection. The tempering and cryo treatments result in an incredibly fine-grained structure and a hardness of Rockwell C-60 to C-62. Blue Spruce Chisels take and hold an edge like no other.
