Meet the Team
Blue Spruce Toolworks had its genesis in my garage almost ten years ago as a hobby business. I created it to make specialty tools for joinery and provide some "fun money" to equip my shop with hand tools, both new and antique. The history of starting the company is on the website here if you want to read more. Fast forward to last fall. With a heroic effort by many friends and family members, Blue Spruce Toolworks was moved out of the garage and into a larger shop located in nearby Sandy, Oregon. Up until this time the company consisted of myself working full time in my garage, Kim working part-time in my basement office, and various friends and family working for me in the shop and on special projects. When I moved the company to Sandy, it was in anticipation of expanding and hiring full time employees. I am very excited to announce my new "team" that is Blue Spruce Toolworks.
Kim is the first person we met when we moved to Oregon 21 years ago (Of course she was just a child at the time). She is our all around office magician, does order management, book keeping, packing, shipping, and keeps the guys in line. Toné, our new shop manager has worked for Blue Spruce Toolworks off and on in the past but is now full time. He is the father of four spunky kids ages 7 and under and is married to an extreme rock-climbing redheaded wife. He brings the elements of youth, humor, energy, and a little Italian flavor to our team. He just moved into a new house only minutes from Blue Spruce Toolworks international headquarters. He is making lots of sawdust, producing beautiful tools and has many ideas for new products. I am still working in the shop and will now have more time to develop new tools, keep you up to date on what is happening, and see you at shows. It is my privilege to work with these talented people who I also count as friends. I am looking forward to this new chapter at Blue Spruce Toolworks. Expect to see new innovative tools in the near future. Also, be sure to check out and "like" our new FaceBook page.
