Buffed by skilled craftsmen, the exceptionally-figured handles contain a lustrous finish that will withstand daily use for years to come.

In other mortise chisels, the wooden handle acts as a shock absorber between your mallet and the blade. In Blue Spruce Mortise Chisels, the striking cap has a direct connection to the cutting edge through a central steel core. All the energy of your strike is delivered to the cut. The blades are taller than they are wide (except the 1/2", which is square) and we carefully grind the sides of the blades parallel to each other. This profile guides your cut in the right direction...straight.

Also known as African Rosewood or Kevazingo, Bubinga is a gorgeous exotic hardwood with a range of red hues. Typically, Bubinga has a striking grain pattern, but certain growing conditions create the "waterfall" effect. We were lucky enough to obtain a quantity of beautifully figured Waterfall Bubinga large enough to make it available for a limited time.
